BioPharma Asia Convention 2016
Singapore Intellectual Property Blog
I’m very pleased to have been invited to be a speaker at the BioPharma Asia Convention 2016.
BioPharma Asia is the leading biotech, pharma and life sciences conference in Singapore and is being held from 22 to 24 March 2016 at Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre. The organisers expect about 2,000 people to attend BioPharma Asia 2016, and over the past 8 years, close to 20,000 have attended the conference in Singapore.
My presentation will be given as part of the “Biotech Investment” and “Rights and Properties” sections of the “Partnering, Pricing and Policies” track, currently scheduled for the Wednesday afternoon (23 March 2016). The topic of my talk is “Innovative Strategies for International Protection of Life Sciences Inventions”.
As part of the conference, the European Patent Office is hosting a workshop on protecting life sciences inventions:
The European Patent Office guide to successful product patenting
Are you investing in an inventive product?
All inventions must be novel and inventive to be worthy of patent protection. For inventive step analysis, a patent office tries to objectively evaluate the features relating to technical improvements and judge whether they are obvious or not. The EPO uses a highly respected and reproducible procedure called the problem-solution approach.
At this expert seminar, we will go through the basic steps and explain the guiding principles.
