Dr Khoo Chong-Yee attended a joint meeting of the AIPLA IP Practice in the Far East Committee and ASPA on 219 April 2012.

Members of the AIPLA IP Practice in the Far East Committee gave presentations on the new America Invents Act, statistics from the USPTO and recent decisions of the US Supreme Court.

“As part of our efforts to promote camaraderie, cooperation, education and intellectual property exchange with IP officials and practitioners in the Far East, the IP Practice in the Far East committee (IPFEC) is planning a visit to the Far East from April 18 through April 27. Specifically, the IPFEC will visit Singapore from April 19-20, 2012; Taiwan from April 23-24, 2012; and South Korea from April 26-27, 2012.

In Singapore, the IPFEC delegation will have meetings with the IP Office of Singapore, the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), and a few other Singaporean companies, and will participate in a ½ day joint seminar/workshop in conjunction with the Association of Singapore Patent Agents (ASPA) and the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA) Singapore Group on the latest developments in Singaporean and U.S. patent law and practice, including recent changes under the America Invents Act (AIA).”
