The deadline for paying the grant fee, for a Singapore patent application, is 60 months from the priority date.

However, this deadline only applies if the Examination Report has been established in time. Under Singapore patent law, the Examination Report is meant to be established at the latest by 57 months from the priority date.

Where the Examination Report is established after this date, the law allows the grant fee to be paid by a date determined by IPOS and set out in the the final Examination Report.

Once we receive the Examination Report from IPOS, we’ll write to you with an updated deadline for paying the grant fee.
